Qesma — Privacy Policy

Qesma (“the app”, “we”) is a shared group-cost splitter. This policy explains what the app collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. By using Qesma you agree to this policy.

Information we collect

• Account information:if you sign in with Google, your name and email address. If you use guest mode, an anonymous device identifier only.
• Content you create:the groups, members, expenses, descriptions, amounts, settlements, and activity you enter.
• Receipt photos:images you choose to attach to an expense.
• Push token:a device notification token, so we can send you updates about your groups.

How we use it

• To provide the service: recording expenses, computing balances and settle-up, and syncing them in real time to the members of your groups.
• To send notifications (e.g. “someone added an expense”, “a payment was recorded”).

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.

On-device processing

• Voice input is transcribed by your device’s own speech recognizer.
• Receipt scanning (OCR) runs on your device; the image text is read locally to suggest an amount.
• The camera and microphone are accessed only when you actively tap to capture a receipt or dictate an expense.

Who can see your data

Expenses and balances are visible to the members of the groups you create or join. We do not share your data with anyone else except the service providers below, who process it on our behalf.

Service providers

• Supabase:hosts the database and receipt-photo storage, with row-level security so data is limited to your group’s members.
• Google Firebase Cloud Messaging:delivers push notifications.

Data retention & deletion

You can delete expenses and leave or delete groups within the app. To request deletion of your account and associated data, contact us at the email below.

Children

Qesma is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.

Changes

We may update this policy; material changes will be reflected by the “last updated” date above.
